Award Nominations

CEETL-FYE Excellence in Teaching First-Year Students Awards 

Nominate a faculty member who has gone out of their way to support a first year student. This award recognizes faculty who have made a difference in the lives of first-year SF State students by inspiring student learning and supporting student development and success. 

Faculty members and department chairs may nominate any faculty member who meets this criteria. Nominees will receive notification that they have been nominated, and asked to provide a curriculum vitae, a narrative describing their impact on first year student success (500-word maximum), and an artifact that supports their narrative, such as an assignment, syllabus, or other representative sample of their teaching. The top three awardees will be honored at the CEETL-AT Faculty Recognition Event on May 1, 2019.

CEETL High Impact Teaching Awards 

Nominate a faculty member who has made a difference in the lives of SF State undergraduate students through high impact teaching practices such as using engaging pedagogy, mentoring, collaborating with students on research, guiding peer-to-peer learning, creating pathways for students, connecting students to resources and opportunities, providing exemplary support for students enrolled in 685, 688 or 699, etc. 

Faculty members and department chairs may nominate any faculty member who meets this criteria. Nominees will receive notification that they have been nominated, and asked to provide a curriculum vitae,  a narrative describing their impact on first year student learning (500 words maximum), and an artifact that supports their narrative, such as an assignment, syllabus, or other representative sample of their teaching. The top three awardees will be honored at the CEETL-AT Faculty Recognition Event on May 1, 2019.
