Certificates in Pedagogies for Inclusive Excellence (PIE)

The Center for Equity & Inclusion in Teaching & Learning is partnering with campus programs and divisions to offer a series of faculty development certificates on Pedagogies for Inclusive Excellence (PIE) that build community and expertise around specific themes related to teaching at SF State.

 

The first certificate is focused on implementing pedagogies for inclusive excellence for First Year students (FY PIE), and consists of four PIE components, or "slices."

Meet these global teaching outcomes related to inclusive pedagogy for first year students:

  1. Intro to First Year Experience

  3. Health, well-being, & mindfulness

2A: EQUITABLE TEACHING FOUNDATIONS (15 HOURS)

 

Global Outcome: Upon completion of the Equitable Teaching Series, or equivalent, faculty members will be able to demonstrate evidence-based strategies to support equitable and inclusive student-centered learning at the curricular, course, lesson, interpersonal and intrapersonal levels in support of the university’s social justice mission.
