Call for Teaching Videos by March 1st
How do you engage students in meaningful and impactful learning in your course? How do you implement Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) in the classroom? How do you teach transformative content in your courses? What role, if any, do emerging technologies play in such instruction?
Submit a 2-3 minute video to email@example.com by March 1st about an impactful teaching practice you use. Make sure to respond to the four questions below and don’t forget to film from a location or with a backdrop that personalizes your submission!
The Center for Equity & Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CEETL) invites SF State faculty to submit a short video explaining a teaching practice they use in the classroom. We are particularly interested in strategies that involve using SF State history and resources, JEDI, inclusive and transformative methods, active learning, service-learning, climate justice, mobile learning, gamification, and emerging technologies like AI, AR or VR, though we are excited to learn about other effective and innovative teaching strategies SF State faculty use!
CEETL will compile these stories to showcase teaching at SF State, and we may ask you if we can share your submission on our social media accounts.
For those hoping to share their teaching stories with colleagues, please make sure to respond to the following questions in a 2-3 minute video:
Who are you?
What transformative or effective teaching strategy do you use in the classroom? What is an example activity you have done with your students?
What impact has this teaching strategy had on your students?
What would you say to convince faculty interested in this strategy to try it out?
We also encourage videos to be filmed from a location or with a digital background that tells us more about you! For example, you might consider recording the video on your phone from a favorite campus location or in your classroom to personalize the video. You are welcome to use any recording mode (e.g., Zoom, iPhone video) with which you feel most comfortable!
