CEETL approaches its programs from the perspective of inclusive pedagogies.  From our ABC's of equity-minded teaching and learning to our Pedagogies of Inclusive Excellence (PIE) institutes and certificates, our programs are dedicated to providing a caring environment for the campus community to engage in conversations and activities that promote social justice and inclusion in teaching and learning.

Pedagogies for Inclusive Excellence (PIE)

CEETL has organized its faculty development curriculum around four main components that will ultimately lead to certificates on different themes related to Pedagogies for Inclusive Excellence (PIE).

The four slices of PIE include:

  1. Foundational Teaching Skills development, through a series of workshops or an institute;
  2. Specialized Knowlege development, through a deep dive into the discipline with faculty experts;
  3. Peer Learning Communities, a semester-long engagement in reflective teaching practice with faculty peers; and
  4. Reflective Teaching Portfolio, with teaching artifacts and reflections that demonstrate an application of these pedagogies for inclusive excellence into one’s own teaching.
