JEDI Workshop on Digital Literacy: Learn to Push Back on Oppressive Citation Cycles
Overview
In this interactive workshop led by Research and Instruction Librarians Dr. Talía Guzmán-González and Ashley Woodruff, you'll explore and practice essential skills for discovering, evaluating, and citing academic works by women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ scholars. We’ll dive into the current structures in academic publishing that uphold privilege and often marginalize scholars of color and People of the Global Majority. Together, we’ll discuss strategies to break the cycle of exclusion and create more equitable citation practices.
Participants should bring their devices and one or two syllabi they have created for their courses.
